At İlhan Optik (the "Company"), the security of your personal data is a priority. As data controller under Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data ("KVKK"), we process your personal data within the scope described below.

2. Personal Data We Process

Through our contact, appointment, and service workflows, we process the following categories of personal data:

• Identity: first and last name
• Contact details: phone number, email address, postal address
• Health data (special category): prescription strength, prescription details, contact lens fitting results - processed only with your explicit consent
• Customer transactions: purchase history, appointment records
• Marketing: newsletter subscription preferences (with explicit consent)
• Site usage: anonymous visit statistics (kept on our own server, no cookies used)

3. Purposes of Processing

Your personal data is processed for the following purposes:

• Handling appointment booking and confirmation
• Delivering optical services (vision test, eyewear sales, lens replacement, repair)
• Managing customer relationships and providing support
• Sharing information about our products and services (with explicit consent)
• Meeting legal obligations (invoicing, warranties, taxation, and similar)
• Ensuring site security and analyzing anonymous statistics

4. Data Transfers

As a rule, your personal data is not shared with third parties. The limited exceptions are:

• Legal obligations: where competent public authorities (tax office, courts, Social Security Institution, etc.) request data within the legal framework.
• Service providers: limited data transfer for hosting, email delivery, SMS notifications, and bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile).
• Shipping and delivery: address details are shared with the carrier when an item is shipped.

Under no circumstances do we sell your data to third parties for sales or marketing purposes.

5. Retention Periods

Your personal data is deleted, destroyed, or anonymized once the processing purpose no longer applies or the legal retention period expires.

• Contact form records: 2 years
• Appointment records: 5 years
• Health records (prescriptions, measurements): 10 years (statutory)
• Invoices and financial records: 10 years (Tax Procedure Law)
• Newsletter subscription: until you unsubscribe
• Anonymous site statistics: 12 months

6. Your Rights as a Data Subject

Under Article 11 of the KVKK, as a data subject you have the right to:

• find out whether your personal data is being processed
• request information about that processing
• learn the purpose of processing and whether your data is used in line with that purpose
• know the third parties (domestic or international) to whom your data has been transferred
• request correction of incomplete or inaccurate data
• request deletion or destruction of your data, within the limits set by KVKK
• request that correction, deletion, or destruction be communicated to third parties to whom the data was transferred
• object to outcomes that are produced solely by automated analysis of your data and that work against you
• claim compensation for damages caused by unlawful processing

7. Exercising Your Rights

To exercise the rights above, you can apply in person at our address with identification, or contact us by phone at 0555 200 16 17. Under Article 13 of the KVKK, we respond to your request free of charge within 30 days at the latest.

8. Cookies and Visitor Measurement

We do not use cookies on this website. Visitor statistics are kept on our own server and nothing is written to your device for this, neither cookies nor browser storage. To tell visits apart, your IP address and browser details are hashed one way with a key that changes daily. Your IP address is not stored, only the city derived from it. The measurement is never sent to a third party service.

We may revise this notice as laws change or as our business processes evolve. Significant changes are announced via a homepage banner and posted on this page. You can see the last-updated date at the top of the page.
